DEVICE FOR PREVENTING MARINE POLLUTION

PURPOSE:To make prevention of marine pollution at dredging easy by preparing a two-stage screen that is hung down, encircling an operating member for the dredging, from the underside of a ladder for lifting and lowering the operating member, and by making the screen capable of being contained to an extended from the dredger. CONSTITUTION:To the underside of a ladder 3 for lifting and lowering a bucket wheel 4, a rail 6 is installed encircling the whole periphery of the bucket wheel 4. Then a two-stage screen 12a, 12b consisting of the upper and the lower stages is hung down from the rail 6 through carriers 9. The screen 12a, 12b is also installed to a dredger in a way that the screen is capable of being contained to an extended from the dredger. At dredging, the screen 12a, 12b is spread round the bucket wheel 4 so that the sea around the dredger can be protected from contamination caused by the dredging. The lower stage 12b of the screen is made available for corresponding to the depth of water after the dredging. With such a device, marine pollution can be easily prevented.
