DEVICE FOR AUTOMATICALLY FEEDING AND MOUNTING PIPE CONNECTING TOOL

PURPOSE:To mount pipe connecting tools, fully automatic, by providing a mounting device for mounting the pipe connecting tools to the ends of pipes of the given length transversely fed successively and a feeding device for feeding pipe connecting tools to said device successively. CONSTITUTION:A number of steel pipes 1 of standard length are traversely fed successively on a traverse line 2. Pipe connecting tools 10 fed from a parts feeder 6 are held by a robot 7 in the state that long spigot sections 12 face the pipe end, and inserted into the end section of a steel pipe 1 positioned at the utmost bottom end of the traverse line 2 and mounted thereon. The steel pipe with the connecting tools 10 mounted on one end is transferred successively io a vertical transfer line 5 by a handling device 3. While the steel pipes are transferred on the vertical transfer line 5, a short spigot section 13 of the connecting tool 10 is pushed into the end of the foregoing steel pipe and each of steel pipes is connected together through the connecting tools 10. In that case, as the long spigot section 12 of the connecting tool 10 is mounted firmly on the steel pipe end by the robot 7, the connecting tool is not dropped down during transfer even when large diameter pipes are transferred.
