Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain an agent for thermotherapy useful for treating human and animal diseases, especially effective for safe and secure remedy and treatment of cancer, containing a conjugated compound of a dextran and metallic magnetic material, etc., as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:An agent comprising a dextran and a metallic magnetic material or a conjugated compound of the dextran and the metallic magnetic material as an active ingredient. A dextran having 1,000-100,000, preferably 4,000-10,000 weight-average molecular weight is used as the dextran. The dextran having modified reducing end by treatment with alkali, halogen or haloous acid or by treatment with cyanide ion and hydrolysis is used.
