Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To compatibly permit the prevention of the buildup in a hearth roll and its adhesion to a film by forming a thermal-sprayed film essentially consisting of 2MgO-SiO2 onto the surface. CONSTITUTION:A thermal-sprayed film essentially consisting of 2MgO-SiO2 is formed onto the surface of the substrate in a heatresistant steel roll. The film has excellent wear resistance, peeling resistance and buildup resistance. In a hearth roll, the thermal-sprayed film formed on the surface has high heat resistance and wear resistance, has good adhesion to the surface of the substrate in the hearth roll at the time of thermal spraying formation and has no generation of partial peeling easy to cause the generation of buildup. Thus, the film is used extremely stably even in repeated application for long period of time in a high heating furnace and highly contributes to the heat treatment of a metallic steel strip.
