ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC COPYING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To constantly attain satisfactory transfer and destaticization regardless of humidity by changing the quantity of charges acting on the copying paper of a transfer corona discharger in accordance with the humidity. CONSTITUTION:Paper guides 3 and 7 are connected in common, with a grounding part 12 through a changeover switch 11. In a high-humidity or a high- humidity area, the changeover switch 11 is connected to the ON side, whereby paper guides 3a, 3b, and 7 are insulated and separated from the grounding part. Therefore, corona-discharged electric charges acting from the back of the copying paper 4 is prevented from flowing to the grounding part 12 via the paper guides 3a, 3b, and 7. In an ordinary humidity or an ordinary area, by connecting the changeover switch 11 to the off side, such a potential difference that causes discharging between the copying paper 4 or the paper guides 3a, 3b, and 7 and the grounding part 12 does not occur. Thus, an excellent toner picture can be transferred without being affected by the humidity, and the electrophotographic copying machine which efficiently removes the charges remaining on a photosensitive body 1 after transfer is obtained.
