COLOR FILTER

PURPOSE:To obtain a color filter for complementary color having high sensitivity and high color reproducibility by using a specified dyestuff expressed by a form of free acid as dye component of the color filter. CONSTITUTION:A dyestuff expressed by the formula I, II, or III expressed by a form of free acid is used as dyestuff component of a color filter. In the formula I, each R1-R3 is an H atom, halogen atom, etc.; expressed the formula (A), wherein each R4-R6 is an H atom, methyl group, etc., R7-R8 is an H atom, lower alkyl group, etc. In the formula II, R9 is an H atom, alkyl group etc., R10-R13 is an H atom, an aryl group. In the formula III, CuPc is a copper phthacyanine nucleus; each R14 and R15 is an H atom or a lower alkyl group. Thus, a color filter having high sensitivity and high color reproducibility is obtd.
