TONER IMAGE ADJUSTING METHOD

PURPOSE:To adjust a toner image properly at all times regardless of variation of characteristics of a latent image carrier by switching the set angle of a developing magnetic pole to a side where developing ability decreases when a reference latent image is developed. CONSTITUTION:When a latent image corresponding to a recording image is developed, the set angle thetaM of the developing magnetic pole is switched to almost 10 deg. and when the reference latent image is developed, the set angle is switched to almost 20 deg.. Consequently, the formation of the latent image corresponding to the recording image and the formation of the reference latent image are carried out under the same conditions and the developing electric field in the development of the latent image corresponding to the recording image is equal to that in the development of the reference latent image, but the developing ability decreases in the development of the reference latent image owing to a difference in angle thetaM and a reference toner image with intermediate density can be formed by developing the reference latent image. Therefore, the invariably proper toner image adjustment is made regardless of the variation of characteristics of the latent image carrier.
