Then, the storage of the original to a memory part 4 is started and the picture data are taken out of the memory part 4 and transmitted to an address inputted during this operation. Accordingly, simultaneously with the setting the original to the facsimile equipment, the original is read and compressed and the storage of the original to the memory part 4 is started. Then, the data can be transmitted to the telephone number inputted during this operation with a minimum waiting time and the transmission time can be shortened.
