Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To lower an applied voltage required for driving, as compared with that for a conventional recording medium, and make it possible to prevent breakage of a head or the like by forming a recording medium (film) having a multiplicity of small holes from a resin material containing metallic particulates. CONSTITUTION:A recording medium (film) 2 containing metallic particulates 8 and having a multiplicity of small holes which are filled with an ink 4 is fed onto heat generating elements 3 of a thermal head. When a voltage is applied to the elements 3 to rapidly generate heat, the surface of the head 1 is heated to about 300 to 400 deg.C. The heat is insulated by resin portions constituting the base material of the medium (film) 2, and is absorbed in the small hole 5 filled with the ink to generate a bubble, resulting in that the ink 4 is driven by the pressure of the bubble to fly. At this time, the heat accumulated at the surface of the head is partly absorbed by the particulates 8, whereby the applied voltage is reduced by about 30 to 35%. In addition, scattering of ink droplets (satellites or the like), a reduction in the useful life of the head, breakage of the head or the like is prevented from occurring due to heat accumulation at the surface of the head, and it is possible to achieve clear high-speed recording. |
