Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To stably produce products having good quality by forming a recording layer on a disk-shaped base material and dividing the card base material to a prescribed optical card shape. CONSTITUTION:A layer on which optically readable information is recorded is formed on the disk-shaped base material 1. The recording layer 4 is uniformly formed on the base material 1 by vacuum film formation such as vapor deposition or sputtering of a metal or alloy which allows optical recording and reproducing of information and is formed as a homogeneous org. this film by spin coating an org. dye coating compd. on the base material 1. A protective layer 5 formed on the layer 4 is not spread to the rear side of the material 1 at the time of spin coating. The card base material 10 formed with the recording layer 4 and the protective layer 5 on the material 1 is divided to the prescribed optical card shape. The plural optical cards are formed in this way.
