PRODUCTION OF POROUS BAKED PRODUCT FROM ACRYLONITRILE POLYMER

PURPOSE:To obtain the title baked product with industrial advantage by dissolving acrylonitrile polymer and a thermally decomposable polymer in a common solvent, then removing the solvent or forming the solution, and baking the product. CONSTITUTION:99 to 1wt.% of acrylonitrile polymer and 1 to 99wt.% of a thermally decomposable polymer having lower than 500 deg.C temperature, at which the polymer weight loss reaches 50%, when heated at a rate of 1 deg.C rise every minute are dissolved in a common solvent such as dimethylformamide to give a solution of 10 to 50wt.% concentration. Then, the solvent is removed from the solution or the solution is formed, when needed, peroxidized in an air atmosphere at 180 400 deg.C for 10 to 90 minutes, and baked in an inert atmosphere containing 5 to 30% of a gas such as steam, carbon dioxide or the like at 500 to 1,500 deg.C for 5 minutes to 10 hours.
