Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To facilitate removal of a scale and to enable reduction of size by a method wherein a primary fluid is caused to flow through the one of two flow passages adjoining to each other with a flexible surface form film made of synthetic resin therebetween serving as an interface, a secondary fluid is caused to flow through the other, and heat exchange is effected between the two fluids through the film. CONSTITUTION:Spacers 4 are secured to the corresponding sides of a square film 1, the films 1 are laminated through the space 4 to form a laminate, and flow passages 1A and 1B are formed with the upper and lower films 1 and the spacers 4 situated to the corresponding sides. Since the flexible surface form film 1 made of synthetic resin is acted as a heat transfer surface, heat exchange can be performed between primary fluid 2 and secondary fluid 3 flowing through the two flow passages 1A and 1B. Since the film 1 is flexible, even when a scale is deposited, by physically bending the film 1, the scale can be easily removed from a film surface. By forming the spacer 4 by a flexible substance, through physical bending of a heat exchanger itself, a scale can be extremely simply removed.
