HEAD CLEANING SYSTEM FOR FLOPPY DISK DEVICE

PURPOSE:To surely prevent a track, whose number of times of use exceeds the limited value, from being used by referring to the number of times of area using written in a write/read part at the time of head cleaning, and selecting the area used for the head cleaning. CONSTITUTION:A head cleaning floppy disk 1 is provided with a head cleaning part for the head cleaning and the write/read part where the using frequency of each area of the head cleaning part is written. When the head cleaning floppy disk 1 is set at the time of the head cleaning, and a cleaning start instruction is inputted from a keyboard 8, a control circuit 7 refers to the number of times of using each area written into the head cleaning part of the set floppy disk 1, selects the area where the the number of times of the use is less than the limited value set beforehand out of the areas in the head cleaning part, a magnetic head 2 is moved onto the track, the head cleaning is executed, and the number of times of the area using for the head cleaning is updated.
