Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To allow the orientation of the solidified structure of a white metal to coincide with the sliding direction of a bearing obtd. by casting the white metal on the inside of a backing strip and to improve the strength of the white metal by locally melting the white metal, turning the bearing and successively solidifying the molten part by cooling. CONSTITUTION:A white metal 3 is cast on the inside of a backing strip 2 by centrifugal casting or other method to obtain a bearing 1. The metal 3 is locally melted with a local heating means, the bearing 1 is slowly turned and the molten part of the metal 3 separated from the local heating means is successively solidified by cooling. Impurities, etc., are concentrated at the stop parts T and the split faces 7 of the bearing split into two are formed at the parts T. The white metal 3 has a structure solidified in one direction coincident with the sliding direction of the bearing 1 and the strength of the metal 3 is improved.
