Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To judge the amount of abrasion for an abrasion sliding member for which fine particles of magnetic material are homogeneously distributed in a non-magnetic material by magnetically adsorping abrasion powder that is generated from the abrasion sliding member, and by measuring variation in the amount of adsorption by a sensor. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic material 2 is homogeneously distributed in a non- magnetic material 1a as a fine particle, so as to form an abrasion sliding member 1 indicating magnetism as a whole. Abrasion powder 5 that is generated from a sliding part between the abrasion sliding member 1 and a non-abrasion sliding member 3 is totally captured in a groove 21 between a magnet 4 and the abrasion sliding member 1 by means of the magnet 4 provided on both sides of the sliding surface. A sensor by which variation in density of flux is sensed is provided on the outer surface of the magnet 4, and the amount of the abrasion powder 5 is detected, so as to judge when to exchange the abrasion sliding member abrased. Since the abrasion powder is totally adsorped, utilization in a clean room is possible.
