COMPOSITION FOR STABILIZING INTERLEUKIN-1BETA

PURPOSE:To provide a stabilized composition preventing the adsorption of IL-1beta activated substance to the wall of a container and having the improved maintenance of the activity thereof by containing the IL-1beta activated substance and human serum albumin and/or a saccharide and a surfactant. CONSTITUTION:The stabilized composition contains interleukin-1beta (IL-1beta) or a derivative thereof and (A) A1: human serum albumin and/or A2: a saccharide, preferably mannitol, inositol, sucrose, maltose or dextran and (B) a surfactant, preferably a polyoxyethylene glycol sorbitan alkyl ester surfactant, sorbitan monoacyl ester surfactant or fatty acid glyceride surfactant preferably in an A1: A2: B ratio of 0.01-10mg: 1-100mg: 0.001-0.1mg per mug of the IL-1beta activated substance. The further addition of a sulfur-containing reducing agent, e.g., cysteine or thioglycolic acid) to the composition achieves the further improvement of the stabilization effect.
