CHARACTER READING SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To read and correct the characters with high efficiency with no complicated control of resources by preparing a character reading subsystem and a character display subsystem. CONSTITUTION:When an OCR 7 reads characters in a character reading subsystem 100, this read signal is converted into the code data and stored in a DISK 10. Then a CPU 18 of a display correction subsystem 210 starts the read of data asynchronously with the character reading operation of the subsystem 100. Thus the code data stored in the DISK 10 is temporarily stored in a RAM 19. When an operator instructs the correction of characters via a keyboard KB 14, the CPU 18 corrects the code data stored in the RAM 19. Thus the characters are read by the subsystem 100, and the obtained code data can be corrected by one or both of systems 210 and 220. As a result, the character reading efficiency is improved with no complicated control of resources.
