METHOD AND DEVICE FOR COUNTING FILAMENT NUMBER CONSTITUTING MULTI-FILAMENT STRING

PURPOSE:To determine the number of constituting filaments by press-bonding and aligning multi-filament strings to an aligning stand with the tension of the strings, successively cutting the constituting filaments, and measuring the phased descending condition of the tension of the multi-filament strings generated at such a time. CONSTITUTION:When multi-filament strings M are press-bonded by the tension of the multi-filament strings M themselves to an aligning stand 2, they are aligned so that their distribution may be flat, and aligned to be almost one layer except a few double-layered filaments. In such a condition, when the filament array is successively cut starting from one side while the tension of the multi-filament string M is being measured by a tension sensor 4, a phenomenon in which the tension generated at the multi-filament string M decreases in stages due to the cut of the single yarn filament is measured. Thus, the number of the filaments constituting the multi-filament string can be easily counted.
