COPYING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To prevent a fixing device from being cooled in spite of air inflow from a paper ejecting port and to prevent convection, which causes rise in the interior temperature of a machine, by providing a means for blocking airflow passing the inside of the fixing device, at an appropriate place of the fixing device. CONSTITUTION:A ventilating fan 8 is disposed almost above the fixing device 6, and air in a main body 1 is discharged out of the machine from an exhaust port 4 by means of a fan 8, thereby cooling the inside of the machine. The sealant 91 seals the gap between the inner wall of the housing 7 of the fixing device 6 and the lower roller 6a and the gap between the inner wall and the cleaning roller 6c so as to prevent airflow passage in the fixing device 6. Since outside air which has flowed into the main body 1 from the paper ejecting port 3 can be prevented from passing the inside of the fixing device 6 and further flowing toward a ventilating fan 8, the roller group 6a, 6b, and 6c of the fixing device 6 is not cooled by the airflow. Additionally, outside air is prevented from flowing into the paper ejecting port 3 fixing device 6 ventilating fan 8 in that order and from generating convection; therefore, this prevents high rise in temperature of a platen glass P and a moving optical system beforehand.
