DOCUMENT PREPARATION DEVICE WITH CHARACTER MODIFICATION FUNCTION

PURPOSE:To enable a character modification range to be designated simply in a short time by a means of defining a character modification range with the position of border data as a boundary in character data retrieved by a border data retrieval means and modifying characters within this defined range. CONSTITUTION:A provided border data designation means designates data on at least, one border of the character modification range by entering specific document data such as character or function information which exists in the document data of a document data storage means. The designated border data of document data stored in said storage means is retrieved by a retrieval means. Then the character modification range is decided by a modification range decision means with the position of this retrieved border data used as a border. Characters are underlined or modified in the boldface mode using a character modification means within the decided range.
