Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To obtain a composite material having a sufficient adhesive strength between a metal layer and a thermoplastic resin by compressing a metal foil having a surface enlarged on one side surface by chemically or mechanically treating on a high temperature stable thermoplastic resin, and complexing it. CONSTITUTION: A metal layer enlarged on a surface by chemically or mechanically treating is directly compressed on a high temperature stable thermoplastic resin containing a polyarylethersulfone, polyaryletherketone, polyetherimide or thermotropic polymer as a base, and complexed. In this case, a temperature of a compressing tool is set higher by 15 to 60 deg.C than a glass transition temperature of the resin, a pressure of a compressing step is set to 50 kPa to 2 MPa, and a time of the pressing step is set to 3 to 240 sec. Thus, the composite material in which an adhesive strength between the metal layer and the resin measured at a peeling speed of 20 mm/min and a peeling angle of 180 deg. is at least 1.9 N/mm is obtained.
