Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To accurately estimate the COD in a gas liquor generated when coke is manufactured by predetermining the COD in the gas liquor generated when each constituent coal of a coal blend is carbonized and calculating the weighted average of the measured values based on the blending ratio of the coal blend. CONSTITUTION:A sample of each constituent coal of a coal blend for manufacture of coke is put in a quartz boat 1 which is placed in a reaction tube 2 made of quartz. This tube 2 is then set in such a manner that it will pass through a primary decomposition oven 3 and a secondary decomposition oven 4. The coal sample is heated, and a gas and liquid generated by thermal decomposition of coal are collected by a cold trap 6 and a gas holder 7 to determine the COD value. The weighted average of the measurements on samples of every constituent coal is calculated based on the blending ratio of a coal blend, and the COD in a gas liquor generated when coke is manufactured by carbonizing the coal blend is estimated based on the calculated value.
