When a passenger passes in the opposite direction, the lower (or upper) entrance prohibition indicator lamp 7 (6) of the lower (or upper) gateway 14 (15) is lighted by the second control means, and a lower or upper warning sound generator 12 or 13 is operated at the same time. When the conveyor can not be used, it is coped with the third control means.
