Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To improve quality of a cathode-lay tube and its production efficiency by detecting application limit of fluorescent slurry and automatically subjecting a nozzle to follow along the application limit to wash the fluorescent slurry so as to eliminate its lumps. CONSTITUTION:An optical position sensor 9 for optically detecting application limit of fluorerscent slurry and producing a detection signal is attached to a transfer operating section 9 for transferring a roller 13 and a nozzle 7. There is provided a first controller 15 which produces a control signal for subjecting the nozzle 7 to follow along with the application limit of a fluorescent slurry 2 based on the detection signal. There is also provided a follow operating section which subjects the nozzle 7 to follow along with the application limit of the fluorescent slurry 2 based on the control signal from the first controller 15. Accordingly, the nozzle 7 automatically follows along with the application limit to wash there with detecting the position of the application limit of the fluorescent slurry 2. Therefore, there is no need to switch a position of the nozzle 7 to several form of the application limit. And also trimming is automatically and surely performed to the application limit. As a result, quality of a cathode-lay tube and its production efficiency are improved.
