Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To admit thermal deformation of composite fibers freely and hold the rigidity of a molded carpet and its shape keeping property good by forming a number of spot-shaped welding parts consisting of low melting point components of composite fibers well dispersed within an unwoven cloth to be attached as a backing layer. CONSTITUTION:Provision of composite fibers 4 is made concentrically arranged with a sheath 3 consisting of a low melting point resin around a core 2 of a high melting point resin as an unwoven cloth 1. Unwoven cloth 1 is formed complexed three-dimensionally with composite fibers 4. This unwoven cloth 1 is attached as a backing layer to the rear surface of a carpet body 7 obtained by toughting a pile 6 on a base cloth 5. At this time, the rear surface of this base cloth 5 is coated with adhesive 8. Partial melting is made by heating the low melting point sheath 3 with adhesive 8, and spot-shaped adhering parts are formed around the high melting point core 2. This allows keeping good the rigidity of molded carpet and its shape holding property.
