CONTENTION CONTROL SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To make the setting job efficient by comparing a packet storage number corresponding directly to a packet delay with a prescribed value and a reference value obtained from a variable value and judging whether a reached packet is to be stored or to be aborted in response to the result of comparison. CONSTITUTION:Means 16a, 16b generate a variable value and a prescribed value respectively and a means 10c obtains a reference value from the variable value and the prescribed value. A means 16d compares the packet storage number by the means 14 with the reference value by the means 16c and the means 10 discriminates the changeover direction of a switch means 12 from the result of comparison of the both. Thus, the packet storage number corresponding directly to a packet delay is compared with a reference value, then whether a line input packet is to be stored or to be aborted is judged and the output of the means 16c being the changeover reference is adjusted by the value generated from the means 16a to make the setting job efficient.
