Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To eliminate the influence of a change in illuminance distribution by using an illuminance monitor unit having a slit (nearly) perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of a bar-shaped lamp. CONSTITUTION:The title device is provided with the bar-shaped lamp 1 and the illuminance monitor unit 10 which monitors the illuminance of a light from the lamp 1. The unit 10 is provided with 1st, 2nd light diffusing plates 13, 15 to a box body 11 having the incident slit 12 in the direction (nearly) perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the lamp 1 and a photoelectric converting element 17. The total quantity of the incident radiation energy to the slit 12 is monitored according to this construction and, therefore, whether the energy necessary for processing is obtd. or not without being affected by the change in the illuminance distribution or not is monitored. This monitor signal is fed back and the supply electric power to the lamp is controlled.
