Furthermore, physico-chemical properties of DC-89A2 in which X is single bond and Y is -CH2Cl are as follows. Elementary analysis (%); C, 57.2; H, 4.9; N, 7.8. Molecular formula; C26H26N3O8Cl. Molecular weight; 543 (mass spectrometry). Melting point; 238-240 deg.C (decomposition). Solubility; readily soluble in methanol, ethanol, ethyl acetate, acetone, chloroform and dimethyl sulfoxide, nearly insoluble in water, n-hexane, etc. USE:An antimicrobial and antitumor agents. PREPARATION:DC-88A is reacted with hydrochloric or hydrobromic acid or with a compound expressed by the formula MXn (M is Li, Na, K, Ca, Mg, Al, Zn or Cu; X is Cl or Br; n is 1-3) in a buffer solution at pH3-6.
