BOX-TYPE CONTAINER FOR FRESH FOOD OR THE LIKE AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PURPOSE:To obtain a container free from shifting and deformation having small possibility of accidents such as damage, and also simplify recycling by a method wherein an outer periphery of a box-type container body made of expanded polystyrene is heat-shrunk and coated with a longitudinally stretchable heat-shrink film. CONSTITUTION:A box-type container is formed of a box-type container body 1 made of expanded polystyrene and a shrink film 2 which is heat-shrunk and applied on the outer periphery of the container body 1. Indication or the like of contents is printed in advance on the shrink film 2. The shrink film 2 consists of a longitudinally stretchable heat-shrink polystyrene film (having shrinking ratio of 60% at 110 deg.C) 50mum thick wherein a blended material made of polystyrene and sytrene-butadiene copolymer is longitudinally stretched 4 times and heat-shrunk and applied on the outer periphery of the container body 1 by being bonded in a circle along a stretching direction at a sealing portion 2a. The upper and lower ends of the shrink film 2 are applied while being folded toward the sides of a middle of the upper face and the bottom face of the container body 1.
