PRINTING PAPER FEED MECHANISM IN THERMAL TRANSFER TYPE PRINTER

PURPOSE:To perform the positioning of printing paper with high accuracy and to simplify an apparatus by arranging a paper feed roller, a platen and a capstan in order and connecting the capstan to a drive means and connecting the platen to the capstan through a transmission mechanism which connecting the paper feed roller to the platen through a slip mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A paper feed roller 1, a platen 2 and a capstan 3 are arranged along a printing paper feed route in order from the upstream part and a motor 4 is fixed to one of the shaft ends of the capstan 3 while a capstan gear 5 is fixed to the other shaft end of said capstan 3 and the shaking gears 7, 8 meshed with the gear 5 to revolve are mounted to said gear 5 to constitute a planetary gear mechanism 9. Two kinds of large and small platen gears 11, 12 are mounted on the same shaft through an one-way clutch 10 and the large gear 11 is meshed with the shaking gear 7 when the capstan 5 is rotated forwardly and the small gear 12 is selectively meshed with the shaking gear 8 at the time of the reversal of the capstan 5. The platen 2 is connected to one end of the paper feed roller 1 by a transmission mechanism 15 through a slip mechanism 14.
