Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To produce a grain-oriented electrical steel sheet having superior suitability for blanking and metallic luster by applying a separating agent for annealing prepd. by blending magnesia with a specified amt. of alkali metal sulfides, etc., to a steel sheet before finish annealing. CONSTITUTION:A grain-oriented electrical steel sheet is cold-rolled to the final thickness and subjected to decarburization annealing, a separating agent for annealing is applied to the steel sheet and finish annealing is carried out. The separating agent used is prepd. by blending 100pts.wt. magnesia with 1-40pts.wt. one or more kinds of sulfides, polysulfides, hydroxides, nitrates, phosphates or carbonates of alkali metals such as Li, Na and K or alkaline earth metals such as Ca, Ba, Mg and Sr. A grain-oriented electrical steel sheet having superior suitability for blanking and metallic luster over the entire surface is obtd. independently of a subtle change in conditions during decarburization annealing.
