CONTROL SYSTEM FOR INPUT QUANTITY FROM INPUT-ONLY TERMINAL OF ON-LINE SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To reduce the load on a center system without increasing the load on decentralized processors by inhibiting transaction data input to the decentralized processors for a prescribed time when the number of input transaction data per unit time is larger than a prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:A decentralized processor 12 calculates a time value for the suppression of input from an input-only terminal 13 based on input control information sent from the center system 11 and sets the time value as a timer interruption timer value. Further, when a timer interruption is generated, the decentralized processor 12 sends a requires to read one block of data to the input-only terminal 13 and sends inputted data to the center system 11. This processing is repeated until input control information is changed or input control is reset. Consequently, the amount of input data from the input-only terminal 13 can be controlled with input control information from the center system 11 and the load on the center system 11 can be reduced without increasing the load on the decentralized processor 12.
