Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To automatically restrict a truck speed to safe value by closing a throttle according to closing speed determined when an engine has not stopped and an accelerator has been pedalled. CONSTITUTION:In a fork lift truck, it is judged on signals issued from an engine rotating speed sensor 6 and an accelerating idle switch 8 that an engine has not stopped and an accelerator has been pedaled. In this case, signals issued from a lift sensor 11 and a load sensor 9 determine a limiting truck speed at which a vehicle can travel without falling down on the basis of the present lift and load. When speed difference between a truck speed detected by a truck speed sensor 5 and limited truck speed is obtained and positive, throttle closing speed corresponding to the speed difference is determined. An engine output control device 7 then controls a throttle on the basis of the determined throttle closing speed. Thus, the running speed of a cargo vehicle can be automatically restricted to safe value without depending on driver's skill and intuition.
