Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To enhance the foaming preventing effect of a foaming inhibitor contg. SiO2, CaO and MgO and to reduce the cost by mixing the foaming inhibitor with powdery iron ore so as to specify the bulk specific gravity. CONSTITUTION:The bulk specific gravity of a foaming inhibitor contg. SiO2 CaO and MgO is regulated to 1.5-2 by mixing with powdery iron ore to obtain a foaming inhibitor used in combination with a desiliconizing agent when molten pig iron is desiliconized in a casting bed. Since this foaming inhibitor drops through a slag layer because of the higher specific gravity than that of the conventional foaming inhibitor, ventholes for allowing gas causing foaming to escape are pierced in the slag layer. The cost of this foaming inhibitor is reduced by mixing with the iron ore.
