LIGHTNING ARRESTER

PURPOSE:To prevent inner components from slipping out to the outside of a lightning arrester by providing a barrier, which passes gas jetting out upon operation of a pressure releasing device and catches the inner components flying together with gas, near the pressure releasing device of the lighting arrester. CONSTITUTION:Gas 6 such as air-nitrogen, etc., is charged into an insulating vessel 1, and in case that a nonlinear resistor 2 fails and grounding occurs inside a lightening arrester, the gas 6 is heated and expands by the energy of that arc, and the pressure inside the insulating vessel 1 rises. At this time, a pressure releasing device 5 operates to prevent the bursting of the insulating vessel 1. That is, a pressure releasing part 501 opens, and heated and expanded gas 6 is released according to the release course of gas shown by the arrow A which is constituted by cover 7. And near the pressure releasing device 5 a barrier 9 which is fixed to the cover 7 receives inner components or broken pieces flying with released gas 6, for example, a nonlinear resistor 2 or its broken pieces, so those solid broken pieces are not released to the outside and only gas 6 is released to the outside.
