PURPOSE:To attain ease of adjusting work of an optical system and an image pickup element such as a CCD by setting an optical length in a throughhole of a block member to an image forming distance of an optical unit. CONSTITUTION:A mounting block BB is provided with concaved parts V1-V3 mounting spacers D1-D3 to set a distance between the block member BB and a printed board T and the distance LL between both end faces F4 and F5 is processed to be a specified value. The printed board T mounted with the optical unit G and a socket K of a CCDS is connected to the mounting block BB. After the end of assembling, the insertion depth of pins P1-PN of the CCDS is adjusted so that the upper face F3 of the CCDS is brought into close contact with the other end face F4 of the block member BB thereby holding the position of the CCDS to an optimum close contact state at all times.
