PURPOSE:To discriminate the normalness of the recognizing function of a recognizer with a small amount of test data by transmitting a picture signal to a recognition processor and collating the result of the recognition processing with the correct answer data. CONSTITUTION:A control part 10 reads a sample scanning line number and a scanning line array order out of a picture signal production information data memory 11. Then the part 10 transfers the data corresponding to the sample scanning line number to a picture signal buffer 13 and produces a picture signal to transfer it to a recognition processor 9. The processor 9 recognizes the picture signal and sends the result of this recognition back to the buffer 13. Then the part 10 collates the result of recognition stored in the buffer 13 with the data stored in a correct answer data memory 14. As a result, it is possible to discriminate the normalness for the recognition processing of the processor 9.
