Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic toner capable of forming a sharp image high in density and low in fog, by adding a magnetic powder past a sintering stage to the magnetic toner. CONSTITUTION:alpha-Fe2O3 having, e.g. 0.5mum average particle diameter is heated in 1,000 deg.C air for 5hr, after cooling, it is pulverized with an atomizer to obtain alpha-Fe2O3 having 103mum average particle diameter. It is reduced in a hydrogen atmosphere at 250 deg.C, after cooling, it is disintegrated to obtain magnetite having a prescriber average particle diameter value and a prescribed specific surface area value. Use of a magnetic toner contg. a magnetic powder subjected to this sintering process permits formation of a sharp image high in density, low in fog, and good in quality, and enhancement of fixing characteristics, too.
