Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain weather-resistance and moisture-resistance, in the preparation of a selective light-absorbing film, by applying the paint composition of an acrylonitrile copolymer, a black transition metal oxide and an organic solvent, and heating the paint composition in a manner such that the copolymer turns black. CONSTITUTION:A selective light-absorbing film for use in absorption of solar light is composed of a copolymer A of 25-95wt% acrylonitrile with 75-5% of a copolymerizable monomer such as acrylic acid, an organic solvent C such as xylene and a transition metal oxide B such as chromium oxide or manganese oxide with the proviso of A/B being in the range of 20/80-70/30. The paint is applied to a metal substrate, e.g. aluminum, having good heat-conductivity at a rate of about 1-6g/m , and dried by heat at 160-400 deg.C to blacken the acrylonitrile copolymer A by its reaction with the atmosphere. At the same time, the properties of the formed paint film such as adhesiveness, weather-resistance and mixture-resistance are improved by the action of copolymer components other than the acrylonitrile.
