Zusammenfassung:	NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I [Z and Z' are each atomic group for completion of indolenine ring, benzoindolenine ring or dibenzoindolenine ring; R1 and R1' are each (substituted) alkyl, aryl, or alkenyl; L is polymethyne-connecting group for forming cyanine coloring matter; Q is anion of formula II (M is transition metal; R -R are each H, halogen, alkyl, or dialkylamino)]. USE:For photo-recording medium with heat mode, coloring matter laser, sensitizing coloring matter for use in the photosensitive material in electrophotograph, etc. Excellent in light resistance with the thin-film reflective characteristics inherent in cyanine coloring matter retained. PREPARATION:A cyanine coloring matter of formula III (An is anion) and quencher of formula IV (Cat is alkali metal cation or onium cation) are dissolved in a polar organic solvent followed by, if necessary, heating. An aqueous solvent is then added to the resulting system to perform metathesis.
