METHOD FOR COOLING CONTROL FOR ROLLING ROLL

PURPOSE:To perform cooling control for rolling rolls by a prescribed cooling capacity in spite of variations in a water film thickness by detecting surface temps. of rolling rolls and adjusting volume of a cooling water supplied to cooling water jackets. CONSTITUTION:Surface temps. of rolling work rolls 2 detected by temp. measuring means 4 and shown on a temp. indication panel 10 are monitored by an operator; the operator adjusts a variable throttle valve 7 to control volume of a water supply with the operator watching a flow meter 9. As the result, the roll surface temps. of the rolls 2 during rolling are properly controlled. The operational efficiency is improved because setting a water film thickness is not needed to be so severe.
