FRONT AND REAR WHEEL STEERING ANGLE RATIO CONTROLLER OF FRONT AND REAR WHEEL STEERING VEHICLE

PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of movability in a small place, by controlling a steering angle ratio setting mechanism so that a steering angle ratio is set to its desired ratio which is slightly off zero degrees toward the negative phase side, while a mode is indicated according to which a rear wheel is kept in a neutral state regardless of steering of a front wheel. CONSTITUTION:A steering angle ratio setting mechanism 1 which sets the steering angle ratio of a rear wheel RW to a front wheel FW is provided so that the steering angle ratio is set to its goal ratio by a vehicle speed corresponding steering angle ratio control means 3 according to the output of a wheel speed detection means 2, the goal ratio which moves from anti-phase to the in-phase with increase of wheel speed. And a selection indication means 4 is provided to make it possible to indicate whether the rear wheel RW is steered in accordance with steering of the front wheel FW, or the rear wheel RW is kept in a neutral state. Besides, a steering angle ratio selection control means 5 is provided which prohibits steering angle ratio control by the control means 3 if the selection indication means 4 indicates maintenance of the neutral state of the rear wheel RW and which controls the steering angle ratio setting mechanism 1 to set the steering angle ratio to its goal ratio which is slightly off zero toward the negative phase side.
