TRANSPORTING CONVEYOR

PURPOSE:To smooth transfer in a conveyor for transferring carriages between conveying rails in a crossing direction by entering the carriages into a crossing portion by means of an auxiliary carriage, and utilizing another auxiliary carriage waiting on a rail on a transfer side. CONSTITUTION:A carriage 3 and a first auxiliary carriage 4a are connected to each other at the portion of a locking member 14a so as to move in an A direction. Meanwhile, at a crossing portion C, a second auxiliary carriage 4b waits with its auxiliary rail 20b aligned in the extended line of a first conveying rail 2a. The carriage 3 and the auxiliary carriage 4a enter the crossing portion C through the conveying rail 2a and the auxiliary rail 20b. The locking roller 15b of a locking portion 14b at the carriage 3 engages with the projecting member 21b of the auxiliary carriage 4b, and a power transmitting member 8b engages with a transmitting band 6b. The auxiliary rail 20a and the conveying rail 2b are aligned. Therefore, when the band 6b is driven, the carriage 3 is guided by means of the auxiliary carriage 4b so as to be moved on the auxiliary rail 20 and the conveying rail 2b.
