Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To simplify working stages, to reduce the cost of production of a sintered body and to improve productivity by putting a material to be sintered in a glass vessel, heating this vessel in vacuum in a hot isostatic press sintering furnace to coat the material with the softened glass and carrying out hot isostatic press sintering in the furnace. CONSTITUTION:A material 1 to be sintered is put in a glass vessel 2 and this vessel 2 is covered with a glass lid 3 and heated in vacuum in a hot isostatic press sintering furnace to coat the material 1 with the softened glass. The material 1 is then sintered by heating under the pressure of gas in the furnace. When the glass vessel 2 reacts with the material 1 to be sintered or sticks to the material 1, a powdery releasing agent 4 such as boron nitride powder is preferably interposed between the vessel 2 and the material 1.
