DETECTING DEVICE FOR CONDITION OF PAPER FEEDER

PURPOSE:To make it possible to detect position of a form at the time of automatic paper feed and whether a paper feeder is on a manual paper feed mode or on an automatic paper feed mode with one sensor by respectively providing pieces to be detected on a manual feed base and a feed roller supporting member on facing to upper and lower side of a detecting area of a sensor arranged between the manual feed base and the supporting member. CONSTITUTION:When a form is fed through manual feed, a manual feed base 2 is moved downward. A piece to be detected 32 on the manual feed base 2 is detected by a sensor 30 in this condition, and according to the detected signal, automatic paper feed is judged to be impossible. Meanwhile, when the manual feed base 2 is moved upward, the piece to be detected 32 is parted from the sensor 30, whose detecting area 31 is opened. It is judged to be in an automatic paper feed condition, and lift command is given to a form bed 8. When the upper surface of forms 20 on the form bed 8 reaches to the paper feed position, a piece to be detected 33 provided on a supporting member 5 for a paper feed roller 7 pressed up in abutting on the form 20 is detected by the sensor 30, and thereby it is detected to have turned out a condition being able to practice an automatic paper feed command.
