Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To raise productivity of methanol by effectuating reaction of CO-rich synthesis gas with water in a liquid-phase reactor and combining water-gas shift and methanol synthesis reactions in a single process. CONSTITUTION: Desulfurized CO-rich synthesis gas and water are fed to a liquid- phase methanol reactor 7 via pipes 1, 3 respectively. Effluent liquid removed from a pipe 9 is separated into liquid and steam by a separator 11. The steam flow is fed to a burner 49 via a high and a low pressure methanol separators 19, 31. A gas turbine expander 53 is driven by the combustion gas from the burner 49. In this way, it is possible to reduce raw methanol products and carbon monoxide component, and raise the productivity of methanol.
