Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To reduce variation of molten metal surface level developing just after changing over a level detector and to prevent overflowing and breakout of the molten metal by making the detected level before changing over with the level detector using after changing over, of the aimed level just after changing over. CONSTITUTION:At the same time of outputting a change-over signal from a change- over signal generator 30, a servo amplifier 71 is worked in accordance with a driving signal outputted from a driving signal generator 37. Then, a sliding gate 7 is controlled to open/close in accordance with the deviation signal between the molten metal level signal from radiation level meter 20 and the output signal of the aimed level generator 35, and the molten metal level in the mold 2 is controlled so that the detected level with an electromagnetic induction type level meter 10 coincides with the level corresponding to output signal of the aimed level generator 35, that is, the aimed level. In such a way, the molten metal level control is executed to the detected level with the electromagnetic induction type level meter 10 before changing over as the aimed level just after changing over and after that, the aimed level is shifted to the original aimed level set with a manual setter 36.
