Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain heavy concrete having superior radiation shielding property and various superior characteristics such as compressive strength, Young's modulus and tensile strength at a low cost by using stably available hematite as coarse aggregate and fine aggregate. CONSTITUTION:Hematite having high specific gravity is used as coarse aggregate and hematite or magnetite having high specific gravity and hardly contg. fine powder is used as fine aggregate. They are blended with cement, water and an admixture to obtain heavy concrete. Hematite produced in the Carajas mine in Brazil, the Iscor mine in the Republic of South Africa or the Hamersley mine in Australia, having high specific gravity and a satisfactory size distribution and hardly contg. fine powder is preferably used as the hematite.
