Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To perform code reading with high reading probability and with high reliability and to reduce a load on an information processor side by confirming the coincidence of read data for a prescribed number of times in a code reader provided with a self-scan type photoelectric transducer part, and performs the reading of a bar code by scanning for several ten times to several hundred times. CONSTITUTION:An edge detecting part 2 and a counter part 3 are operated based on the output signal of the self-scan type photoelectric transducer part 1, and the bar code is decoded by a decoding part 5 based on those output signals. Thus, data decoded at the decoding part 5 is inputted to an output control part 6, and the data decoded at present is stored in a first data memory of the output control part 6, and the data decoded at a preceding time is stored in a second data memory. Also, a comparator is provided at the output control part 6, and the data stored in the first data memory is compared with that stored in the second data memory, and when the number of times in which both data coincide arrives at a prescribed number of times set in advance, the data stored in the first data memory is transferred to the information processor.
