Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To suppress the generation of the static electricity generated by rubbing so as to prevent sticking of lint, fluff, etc., by the static electricity onto liquid crystal substrates and to obtain the uniform orientational property of a liquid crystal by using the rubbing material formed by compounding a specific positive electrostatic charge material and negative electrostatic charge material. CONSTITUTION:This rubbing material is constituted of the material which is electrostatically charged near to the positive side than the positive charge of the cotton which is electrostatically charged positive with respect to the liquid crystal substrates and the material which is electrostatically charged near to the negative side than the negative charge of the polystyrene which is electrostatically charged negative under the same conditions. The positive electrostatic charge material refers to, for example, nylon, polymethyl methacrylate, cotton, etc., and the negative electrostatic charge material refers to, for example, polyethylene, polyester, acryl, 'Teflon(R)', etc. The above-mentioned positive electrostatic charge material and negative electrostatic charge material are used in the state of regularly or randomly arranging the same in a composite state. Since the static electricity generated in rubbing is neutralized according to such rubbing material, the uniform orientational property of the liquid crystal is obtd. and the sticking of the lint and fibers is obviated.
